We’re back with Illustrator and friend of I Got Birds, Robert Bruno! We thought we would catch up with Robert in the year since our last podcast, and Rob was gracious enough to come back on. You may want to turn your speakers up a bit, as we had some technical difficulty and ended up recording on an iPhone. That being said, we hope you enjoy The Return of Robert Bruno!
Mexico-based illustrator and designer, Carlos Dattoli blew me away with some of his awesome illustrations, produced as part of a series entitled “Ode to My Childhood”. As a kid of the late-70’s and early-80’s, I grew up on cartoons such as “Silverhawks” and later with “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. Carlos is producing some beautiful illustrations based on these classic properties, and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!

The crew from Grey Matter Art are BACK! This time they have Chris Garofalo along for the ride to present a journey into reefer, a trip into madness, a jaunt into REEFER MADNESS!!!
Reefer Madness by Chris Garofalo
Artist: Chris Garofalo
Regular Edition: 40/$35.00
Printed By: Rural Rooster
Paper: Mr. French Jellybean Green Poptone Stock
Chris Garofalo’s “Reefer Madness” print will be available at this year’s Monster-Mania Convention, taking place March 13th-15th in Cherry Hill, New Jersey! Both Grey Matter Art and Chris Garofalo will be in attendance, so stop by and say hello.
Here’s what Grey Matter Art had to say about their latest collaboration…
“This is our first collaboration with Chris, and we really had a blast working together. We are so incredibly pleased to release “Reefer Madness” as an exclusive poster at the Monster-Mania convention, running from March 13th-15th, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Chris & Grey Matter Art will both be in attendance, so please come on down, and show your support. The run size will be limited to only 40 posters, and any remaining copies will go on sale Tuesday, March 17th at 1PM EST in our shop page.”
Chris Garofalo himself had this to say about his latest work of art…
“When I was approached with this subject, I immediately knew that I wanted it to have a vintage, “poisonous, yet strangely appealing” feel to it. The original poster has such a loud “scare you straight” vibe, that I decided on the “seductive danger” route. It was certainly a lot of fun merging the two worlds of temptation and restriction on one print, and it was as challenging as it was rewarding.”
Be sure to follow Grey Matter Art and Chris Garofalo on their respective Twitter accounts, and for more information on The Monster-Mania Convention, check out their website HERE.
I don’t need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin’ soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain’t that fresh
I don’t need your civil war
Vector master, Orlando Arocena, returns with his take on Marvel’s “Civil War” event! As all comic nerds (myself included) know, Civil War was a 7-part miniseries in which Captain America (anti-hero registration act) and his assembled forces fought Tony Stark (pro-hero registration act) and those on his side. It was hero against hero. Some lived, some died and Spider-Man outed his identity to the world media!
Giclée printed on matte enhanced paper 192 gsm, Thickness 10.3 mil
with Epson Ultra Chrome K3 inks.
Each print will have the artist’s signature on lower right border with edition number.
