The guys at Grey Matter Art are releasing their final poster in “The Texas Chainsaw” poster anthology. This poster is illustrated by the awesome Francesco Francavilla.

Grey Matter had this to say about the poster release…

Grey Matter Art, under license from Vortex Inc, Tobe Hooper, and Kim Henkel is proud to announce our last and final release for the 4 part artist series for the 40th Anniversary of the film, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” This poster is by talented artist, Francesco Francavilla. This is our first collaboration with Francesco, and we think he presented us with a classic take on the film.”

“We are so happy to unveil our final poster in this series to everyone that has been waiting so patiently for it to be announced, and we think it was well worth the wait to show this classic representation of the film. It was a pleasure working with Francesco, and we could not be happier with what he gave us, this is the perfect poster to close the series with. This piece is just so gritty looking, especially the variant edition, with the blood spatter with the darker yellow tones to it. It really is sums up the film in a perfect way. We think all of the artists did such a great job in this series and each really brought something a little different to the table. It was a blast working with everyone to make this project come together, and we hope everyone really enjoyed what we have released.”

Hail to The King, Baby.

Hail to The King, Baby.” – Ash Williams

Grey Matter Art and Ghoulish Gary Pullin unite to create one Hell of a poster with Gary’s take on “Evil Dead II”! This is the very first collaboration between Grey Matter and Gary, and to top it off the variant edition of this poster Glows In The Dark!

Gary is one of our favorite illustrators and we’re thrilled to see his rendition of Ash, chainsaw-hand and all. The Glow In The Dark variant is extra-creepy when the lights go out, and to our eyes the blood-spattered typeface resembles branches of a certain tree.

American Psycho, Stay Away From Me-eee!

Grey Matter Art and illustrator Timothy Pittides reveal the poster release for the hit Brett Easton Ellis novel “American Psycho“!

  • Illustrated by Timothy Pittides
  • Regular Edition: 60/$35.00 (Signed & Numbered)
  • 18″ x 24″ four color screenprint Printed on 100lb French Speckletone Kraft

Grey Matter had this to say…”Grey Matter Art is proud to announce our next official poster release for the novel “American Psycho,” by artist Timothy Pittides, and authorized by author Bret Easton Ellis.

Timothy Pittides adds…”American Psycho, the moment I first saw the film in 2002, I fell in love. One of the only films that made me go out and purchase the novel it was based on. After my first initial reading, I couldnt shake the feeling of uneasiness. I felt dirty, and I LOVED IT. Bret Easton Ellis weaved a story so shocking and so important it could not be ignored. I have read this great book so many times, I felt a part of the narrative. When the time came where I felt I could do some justice to it, I had to strike and reach out to Mr. Ellis and see if I was worthy enough to create a visual for his book. When I received the go ahead, I was not ready for where this would take me. Numerous concepts, 60 hours of work completed on one concept, only to stare at it in it’s final inked form, and HATE it. It was good, but not good enough, it didn’t convey what I wanted. I placed it aside, taking some concepts from it and finally creating these piece which I feel conveys the tone and attitude of the words Mr Ellis so viciously typed. Patrick Bateman’s descent into insanity and depravity is only made worse by the materialistic world in which he is so desperately trying to be apart of. That hate and venom is represented here in his business suit, his status symbol, slowly turning him into a wild animal. I am so pleased Grey Matter Art is willing to release this authorized print for me and I can not thank them enough. But the true thanks goes to Emory Johnson at Random House, Amanda Urban at ICM partners and of course Bret Easton Ellis himself.

“American Psycho” goes on sale Thursday, May 7th at 1:00 PM EST on Grey Matter’s Webstore!

Grey Matter and Gabz Love Power Tools

The gang at Grey Matter Art have enlisted illustrator Gabz to create another stunning print in Grey Matter’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” poster anthology! I love the use of typography in this one, and as always, Gabz illustrations are second-to-none.

Here’s a little more info from the guys at Grey Matter..”Grey Matter Art is proud to announce our next release for the 4 part artist series for the 40th Anniversary of the film, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Our next poster is by the very talented Grzegorz Domaradzki (Gabz). This is our sixth project collaboration with Gabz, and we are so excited with his idea for the film, and think it works very well as a companion piece to our other Texas Chainsaw Massacre posters in this series.

Gabz also chimed in on his involvement with this illustration…”Being a huge fan of what Jason Edmiston and Florian Bertmer did for the same title before me, as hard is it was, I wanted my piece to be something completely different. I’ve been wanting to work on something more editorial-looking for months, and with a title as long as this one, I felt it’s a perfect opportunity not to be wasted.

Since viewers of this classic horror flick are meant to believe it’s based on a true story, custom-designed typo that looks like a front page of some crazy newspaper seemed like a right thing to do.Instead of focusing on just one scene or character, I included several plot points and all the essential characters destined (or not) to end up on Sawyer’s dining table.

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” poster by Gabz is available now at Grey Matter’s Webstore.

Tracie Ching says “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!”

The prolific and awesome Tracie Ching has assembled some new illustrations in honor of “Avengers: Age of Ultron“. I’m pretty partial to Tracie’s Iron Man. I just love ol’ Shellhead. Tracie’s illustrations were part of a Marvel-sanctioned Avengers art show put on by Hero Complex Gallery. Tracie, I’d love to see your rendering of Hulk sometime!
